PCOS / PMOS care

PCOS (PMOS) care in Greensburg, PA

You may know this condition as PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome). A newer name, PMOS (polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome), highlights that it affects hormones and metabolism, not only the ovaries. Care is available in the Greensburg office or by telehealth anywhere in Pennsylvania.

Who this care is for

Women who have been diagnosed with PCOS or PMOS, or who have symptoms that may be related, and want help with the hormonal and metabolic side of the condition. If you were diagnosed with PCOS, the name change does not mean you need a new diagnosis.

Concerns we may evaluate

  • Irregular or missed periods
  • Weight gain or difficulty losing weight
  • Insulin resistance and blood sugar concerns
  • Acne or unwanted hair growth
  • Hair thinning
  • Fatigue and energy changes
  • Mood changes
  • Cholesterol and other metabolic risk factors

What to expect

  1. 01

    A complete picture

We review your cycle history, symptoms, weight history, current medications and any previous lab results.

  2. 02

    Testing when needed

If needed, lab testing may look at hormones, blood sugar, insulin resistance, cholesterol and other metabolic markers.

  3. 03

    A plan made for you

Your plan may include nutrition, activity, sleep and lifestyle recommendations, and prescription medication when clinically appropriate, including weight-management medication. Follow-up visits help adjust the plan over time.

PMOS is a long-term condition. The goal is care that looks at the whole picture, not one symptom at a time.

Common questions

What is the difference between PCOS and PMOS?

It is the same condition with a new name. In May 2026, international medical organizations renamed polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) as polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome (PMOS) to better reflect its effects on hormones and metabolism. Endocrine Society announcement

Which visit should I book?

Book a Hormone visit. If weight is also a major concern, Shea can address that as part of your plan. Not sure? Call 724-382-7168.

Do you provide fertility treatment?

If you are trying to become pregnant or are pregnant, tell Shea at your visit. Fertility treatment and pregnancy care may require a referral to a specialist.

Can I be seen by telehealth?

Yes, if you are physically located in Pennsylvania at the time of your visit.

Do you take insurance?

Precision Health and Wellness is a direct-pay practice and does not bill insurance for office visits. When lab testing is medically indicated, it may be billed to your insurance; coverage depends on your plan. Prescription costs depend on the medication, pharmacy and your coverage.

This page is general information, not medical advice. Treatment depends on an individual evaluation; no specific prescription or result is guaranteed. For an emergency, call 911.
